Saudi Arabian Airlines Corporation ("SAUDIA")
Following the resolution number 1/27 dated 14.2.1427 A.H. of the Supreme Economic Council relating to the privatisation of Saudi Arabian Airlines ("Saudia"), and approving the implementation program for such privatisation, Saudia is now formally commencing the competitive tender process to find a business partner for its maintenance, repair and overhauling division (the "MRO Business"). In order to facilitate this process, the MRO Business has been restructured into a new Saudia group company ("Saudia Aerospace Engineering Industries" or “SAEI”). The successful bidder may be acting either alone or in a consortium with other investors, and will be invited to acquire 30% of the issued share capital of SAEI and participate in its management (the “Project”).
Saudia Aerospace Engineering Industries is headquartered in Jeddah and has responsibility for the maintenance of Saudia’s entire fleet. With more than 5,000 employees as at year-end 2010, it currently operates as a strategic business unit of Saudia. Saudia has entered into a long term agreement with SAEI pursuant to which SAEI is granted exclusive rights to provide maintenance and related services to Saudia.
Saudia invites interested parties (“Candidates” and each a “Candidate”) to submit an expression of interest to obtain the Request for Qualification information relating to the Project (“RFQ”). Candidates should submit their expressions of interest to:
Each expression of interest must specify the Candidate’s full corporate name and registered address, together with the telephone number, fax number, e-mail address and correspondence address of a contact person to whom all correspondence relating to the Project should be sent. The deadline for receipt of expressions of interest is 11:00am GMT on April 30, 2011.
Saudia reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to reject or accept any expression of interest received pursuant to this public announcement, to consider, accept or reject any application on the basis of the criteria set out in the RFQ, to extend the deadline for the submission of qualification information, and to take any other action in relation to the Project which it sees fit in its sole discretion.
